Joint Venture

An accomplished group of aeronautical engineers, all from Italian and French Universities, having experience from Aerospatiale Matra, Ansaldo and Aermacchi founded Storm Aircraft Companies Group in late 1981. Since inception the company has worked on various programs concerning the supply and manufacturing of parts for civil aircraft, for military jet trainer MB339 (Aerobatic Italian Patrol) empennages, for Martin Becker Ejection seats, for French Dassault Falcon. Its design and technological capabilities have permitted many companies to produce cold parts for engine nacelles: inlets, fan cowls and EBU, the systems-to-engine interface.

With the European Consortium AESN the company was involved in the WIG project SEABUS with the study of wings in ground effect and construction of the prototype wings.

With over 25 years in aircraft industry Storm Aircraft Companies Group has become one of the most successful aircraft manufacturers in the world in its category. It has played a key role in defining the actual character of the growing aircraft industry, a market segment that now outsells the production market fleet by more than 3 to 1.

Pioneer of composite manufacture in its niche market, Storm Aircraft has anticipated the future of light aircraft by introducing a new all-composite high-wing model, the STORM RALLY a ten years project.

Today there are more than 1000 aircrafts sold by the group that are flying in more than 20 countries, on 5 continents. The rapid success of the group is the result of a philosophy dedicated to expanding and refining the product line, a serious commitment to style, innovation and technical advancements such as the introduction of advanced composite airframe structures, as for RALLY.

The group also manufactures advanced all-metal and composite structures at its factory in Sabaudia, 60 miles from Rome, Italy.

Our goal is to continue to play an important part in shaping the future of modern aviation through innovation, technical advancements, refined design, style and of course performance refinements in the entire aircraft family.

ATR procured the group in late 2008. Scaled Aviation Industries (Private) Limited Has signed a Technological Joint Venture with ATR giving it access to 19 aircraft designs. The designs include Helicopters and Gyrocopters which are officially chosen to be the partner of the U.S Department of Justice.
